Group Exercise
The following classes are available at selected LivingWell health clubs.
All classes should be booked at reception to ensure a space. Classes can only be booked 5 days in advance and must be cancelled if you cannot attend. Entrance to classes cannot be made once the class has started, this is to prevent injuries from an inadequate warm up period.
Please wear good supportive aerobic / cross training shoes to avoid injury and, as with all exercise, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
Group fitness
At LivingWell we run a variety of group fitness classes, including Step, Aqua, Body Conditioning and Circuit Training, all with the same goals in mind:
- To improve fitness by strengthening heart and lungs
- To tone and strengthen muscles
- To burn calories and fat
Classes which include weight bearing exercises will help increase bone density and therefore, especially in females, help delay the onset of osteoporosis.
Aqua aerobics is an excellent form of weight bearing exercise, which means that the water supports the body, decreasing the stress on weight bearing joints. Water based activities are beneficial for pregnant women, older adults and for rehabilitation from sporting injuries or operations.
